Cancellation Difficulty Ranked: Which GLP-1 Providers Make Leaving Hardest
The FTC's click-to-cancel rule is law. But some GLP-1 telehealth providers haven't gotten the memo. We tested how easy — or how painful — it is to cancel at 10 platforms.
Starting a GLP-1 telehealth subscription is easy. Every provider has optimized their signup flow to get you from landing page to credit card in minutes. But what happens when you want to stop? The FTC's updated "click-to-cancel" rule — finalized in 2024 and enforced since mid-2025 — requires that cancellation be as easy as signup. In practice, compliance varies dramatically.
We evaluated the cancellation experience at 10 GLP-1 telehealth providers by reviewing their Terms of Service, testing their account dashboards, and cross-referencing patient reports from forums and review sites. Here's how each provider ranks on how easy they make it to leave.

The Easy Exits
GobyMeds — Nothing to cancel
GobyMeds doesn't have a subscription. You buy a bundle or a single month, and that's the transaction. No auto-renewal, no recurring charge, no cancellation process. When you want more medication, you place another order. When you don't, you stop. This is the simplest model in the market and the reason GobyMeds ranks first on cancellation ease — there's literally nothing to cancel.
No auto-renewal. No recurring charges. No cancellation needed. Sema from $99/mo (12-wk bundle), tirz from $133/mo.
View GobyMeds Paid linkTelos Rx, Found, and Embody — Dashboard cancellation
These three providers offer self-service cancellation through your account dashboard or settings page. No phone call required, no "retention specialist" conversation. Telos Rx states "cancel anytime" in its terms. Found refunds your payment if you're not prescribed medication. Embody doesn't refund shipped medication but lets you cancel before your next billing cycle without friction.
The Middle Ground
Oak, Wellorithm, MadeMed — Email or chat required
These providers require you to contact support to cancel rather than offering a self-service option. That's not a dark pattern per se — support teams generally process cancellations without pushback — but it adds a step and a wait time that dashboard cancellation avoids. MadeMed's $149/year club membership is non-refundable even if you cancel your medication subscription, so cancel before renewing if you're on the fence.
The Harder Exits
Gala — 72-hour notice + medical-only refunds
Gala's cancellation terms are the most restrictive in our comparison. You must provide 72 hours' notice before your next billing date, and refunds are only issued for medical disqualification — not dissatisfaction, not side effects, not simply wanting to stop. On a yearly plan ($179/month), the financial commitment is significant, and the refund policy means you're locked in once you start unless a provider determines you can't continue for medical reasons.
Gala's flat-across-doses pricing is a genuine advantage (see our tirzepatide comparison), but the cancellation terms are the trade-off. Read the terms before committing.
SHED — Term commitments + revised guarantee
SHED's cancellation experience depends on which plan you chose. Multi-month term commitments have different cancellation rules than month-to-month plans. Their guarantee changed in June 2026: it's now 120 days / 5% body weight loss or a refund (previously 9 months / 10%). If you're within the guarantee window and haven't hit 5%, you qualify for a refund. Outside that window, cancellation follows your term's billing cycle.
The FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule
The FTC's "Negative Option Rule" update requires that businesses make cancellation "at least as easy" as signup. Specifically: if you signed up online, you must be able to cancel online without calling a phone number. The rule took full effect in mid-2025.
By this standard, providers requiring a support email or chat to cancel a subscription that was started with a web form are in a gray area. They're not technically violating the rule (email is still "online"), but they're not meeting its spirit either. GobyMeds, Telos Rx, Found, and Embody are the clearest compliers.
Best cancellation experience: GobyMeds (no subscription to cancel) and Telos Rx/Found/Embody (dashboard self-service). Read the terms before committing at: Gala (72-hour notice, medical-only refunds) and SHED (term commitments, revised guarantee window). If easy exit is a priority for you, avoid yearly plans and look for providers with self-service cancellation.
How to Protect Yourself
- Screenshot the cancellation terms before signing up. If they change later, you have documentation of what you agreed to.
- Set a calendar reminder 3 days before your billing date if you're considering canceling. Most providers require notice before the next cycle.
- Use a virtual credit card number if your bank offers them. This gives you a hard stop on charges if the cancellation process stalls.
- Check your state's consumer protection laws. Some states (California, New York) have additional auto-renewal protections beyond the FTC rule.

Methodology
Cancellation methods verified against provider Terms of Service, account dashboard features, and independent patient reports as of September 2026. Difficulty ratings are our editorial assessment based on the number of steps required, whether self-service is available, and the restrictiveness of refund policies. See our full methodology.
